Last Gasp?

Viewed from the rear of our house

Well, here we are on the Sunday the 16th of March after we had experienced a few days in the 70's and thinking that the Winter, at least weatherwise, was over.  Yesterday Ginnie and I finished a Hurculean (for us) task clearing the leaves from our yard.  The snow has been falling all day, but if the weatherman is right, it will all melt Monday with sunshine and temperatures in the 50's.  We sure are ready for this winter to be over.

Trees are budding and Daffodils are pushing up.  One Daffodil is set to bloom, and no doubt would have except for the snow.  The Dogwoods appear to be waking up and our Maple tree is leafing out.  I have much to do to clear sticks, twigs and acorns from our yard.  Ginnie talks about dividing some bulbs and increasing the plantings.  I need to treat several of our bushes that are infested with thrips.  It all sounds like work, but it's going to be nice to be able to putter outside with the Spring breezes.
